The Bosporus, besides Gibraltar, is Europe‘s most important bird migration route. Many different migratory birds can be observed here between the end ofMarch and the middle of May and from the start ofAugust until mid-October.The migration of storks and birds of prey over the Bosporus is famous all over the world.
In the Northern part of the Bosporus, towards the Black Sea coast, there is a mass migration of smaller birds.
1001-Istanbul is located in the immediate vicinity of the "Sariyer Hills", which are well-known for their excellent observation stations.
